Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
UniHelpDesk helps students in Ghana explore universities, programmes, and scholarships. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We do not sell student personal data.
1. Who this applies to
This policy applies when you use UniHelpDesk on the web, including browsing without an account and using optional features that require signing in (such as saving programmes).
2. Information we collect
We may collect:
- Account details — if you sign up: your name, phone number and/or email address, and a password (stored in hashed form).
- Saved programmes — programmes you choose to save while signed in.
- Usage information — basic technical and interaction data needed to run and improve the service (for example, pages viewed or errors). We use Google Analytics to understand aggregated site traffic and engagement. We do not use analytics to sell your identity.
You can browse universities, programmes, and scholarships without creating an account.
3. How we use information
We use your information to:
- Provide and secure your account
- Save and show programmes you mark for later
- Improve UniHelpDesk and fix problems, including with aggregated analytics about how the site is used
- Contact you about your account or important service updates when needed
If we ever share insights with partners, we intend to use aggregated, privacy-conscious reporting — not resale of your personal details. That matches how we think about student trust.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only when needed to:
- Run the service (for example, trusted hosting or database providers who process data on our behalf)
- Comply with law or protect UniHelpDesk and our users
- Follow a clear request or consent you give us
5. Retention and security
We keep account and saved-programme data while your account is active and as needed to operate the service. Passwords are hashed. No system is perfectly secure; we take reasonable steps to protect your information and ask you to keep your login details private.
6. Your choices
You can use browse features without signing up. If you have an account, you can ask us to update or delete your account information by contacting us at the email below. Some data may need to be retained for a limited time for security or legal reasons.
7. Important note about guidance
UniHelpDesk is a discovery and guidance tool. Programme details, cut-offs, and deadlines can change. Always confirm important information with the university or another official source before you apply.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as UniHelpDesk grows. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date on this page.
